Jamie Schwartzman
Head of FLUX
jamie@fluxbiz.com
Jamie likes making things. Example: he loves making dinner. He’s the kind of guy who’ll whip up something great with whatever’s around. This isn’t about following a cookbook. It’s about following instinct. He understands how to please the palate. He impresses the senses. And he engages even the detached diner.
Jamie’s approach to marketing, branding and advertising is all about uncovering new opportunities to elevate your brand, leveraging every ingredient from your company’s pantry. He goes beyond problem solving. It’s a bigger type of thinking that forces those around him to grow, while positioning clients to be far more proactive than reactive.
Having cut his teeth in a number of successful (and a few failed) ventures, Jamie brings a sense of realism to the table, while being gifted at accommodating growing pains. Equally adept across creative and business, his consultative style reflects his prowess in the boardroom, in the studio or on the pitcher’s mound. His practice includes business development, marketing and sales, through servicing several nationally-based companies. Thanks to his efforts, growth was in triple digits annually at all of these respective companies.
So, how did Jamie get this way? He’s the kid of an artist and a doctor. Left brain. Right brain. And along the way he developed impeccable taste. The result, whether it’s tuna tartar or a marketing campaign, is happiness. Clients feel it. Employees feel it. In fact, everyone can almost savor it. And if you can’t, just try his brisket.
Christina Petropoulos
Project Director / Professional Surfer
christina@fluxbiz.com
Christina has amazing balance. Not just because she’s as comfortable riding a surfboard, snowboard or skateboard as she is negotiating the twists of any marketing and public relations road.
Christina handled the executive ranks of marketing and public relations in the entertainment industry for a dozen years. During her tenure, she managed the promotion and international distribution of many high profile films including, INSOMNIA, CROSSROADS, MEMENTO, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, AMERICAN PIE, EVITA and DIE HARD WITH A VENGENCE, just to name a few.
Christina’s other half is an avid surfer, snowboarder and skateboarder. In 2003, she merged her two talents and opened Rock’er Board Shop, the first ever female-specific surf shop for women in Los Angeles. Conscientious of the damage these sports were causing to her skin, she seized the opportunity to return to the corporate world by joining FLUX as the company’s official plate spinner.
When it comes to managing clients’ needs, there is no challenge too gnarly. She'll drop-in with the best of them and is always available for an early morning board meeting.
In addition, Christina wrote, directed and produced the short film “between seven and one” which appeared at many film festivals and is currently available in a collection of short films distributed by Wolfe Video. She has also published numerous short stories in various literary journals.
Shaily Savla
Graphic & Web Designer / Jersey Girl
shaily@fluxbiz.com
With a name that literally means "style" in Sanskrit, Shaily can’t help but to infuse her creativity into everything she endeavors. Shaily is Indian (with the red dot, not the feather), and likes to tat people up (with henna of course) when she's not working as a graphic designer. A New York girl who now calls Los Angeles her home, Shaily spent her undergraduate years in San Diego studying Media Art at Platt College.
Possessing all of the qualities of a Leo, Shaily is eminently optimistic and cheerful (although she can be sarcastic, stubborn and forthright blunt). But all in all, her sunny disposition and bi-coastal sensibilities make Shaily's designs an invaluable resource.
Before joining the FLUX team, Shaily brought her graphic skills to famous Downtown LA developer Gilmore Associates where she created and implemented a multi-faceted design strategy for the firm's portfolio of lofts, restaurants, retail, music and event venues.
Cynthia Kiser
Art Department Assistant
cynthia@fluxbiz.com
Cynthia has always known that she is more competitive than most girls. In fact, in the fourth grade she was so sure that she could beat the boys in kickball, that she bet her ice cream money on it. To this day, an ice cream sandwich has never tasted so good.
She loves to sing, but only in the privacy of her own car; she is addicted to food, but is an incredibly picky eater; she is secretly addicted to celebrity gossip, but she hates to admit it; and she would rather text message than actually talk on the phone.
She is known by her friends as the “sarcastic one,” and she is rarely shy about voicing her opinion, weather you want to hear it or not. A good cocktail with friends always puts a smile on her face, and she thinks TiVo is pretty much the greatest invention since automatic flushing toilets.

Karen Maxwell
Senior Art Director / River Dancer
karen@fluzbiz.com
A veteran graphic designer, Karen has worked for a variety of corporate clients and nationally-based companies. Her experience producing printed materials ensures project completion on time and within budget.
Comfortable on screen, or with markers and board, she constantly strives to hit every objective while raising the aesthetic bar on each project. And though she may not immediately admit it, she has an excellent smile.
Brandon Hunter Schor
Account Executive / Auto Enthusiast
brandon@fluxbiz.com
Brandon loves cars. Not just loves, but is pretty much obsessed. His favorites include (but not limited to): the Maserati Quattroporte, BMW M6, Mercedes CL63, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Aston Martin DB9, Audi S8 … and the list goes on. He appreciates not just their beauty and design, but technology, innovation and most of all, their power. Like the luxury and exotic cars he follows, Brandon is fast, precise and spirited.
With a Public Relations degree from USC, Brandon knows all too well the value of hard work and the importance of strong, long-lasting relationships. Prior to Flux, Brandon pursued his interest in music/entertainment public relations. He's the typical Leo: always trying to run the show, opinionated, stubborn, yet sensitive and intuitive. All characterisitics that serve him well here at Flux.
He's the youngest, yet oldest Flux employee (since 2004) and continues to enjoy his role in creative/account strategy and client services.
And with a name that starts with "Brand," this couldn't be more of a perfect fit.
Deanna McClure
Designer / Social Gadabout
deanna@fluxbiz.com
Deanna is a graphic designer. Seriously. Her favorite color is PMS 541. She'll buy CDs just because she likes the cover. She'll try out a restaurant based solely on a cool logo. She's given a primer on the importance of proper kerning to her 10-year-old niece...but she's still doesn't share her aunt's outrage over poorly kerned text in public places. But she will, oh yes, she will. If she ever gets a tattoo, it will be something along the lines of "Tick Mark's are not the same as Typographer's Quotes" or "Double-Spaces after Sentences are Wrong!"
With over 10 years of industry experience, Mz McClure has worked on a wide array of projects for an eclectic range of clients – everything from small non-profits to the Lakers. She's an avid photographer who has recently turned a love of architectural photography into a small, but expanding casual lifestyle-y/portrait-y type business...we know, it doesn't make sense to her either.
Zoë Wilschinsky
Traffic and Operations Coordinator
zoe@fluxbiz.com
Zoë likes to spend her free time peering through the lens of her 35mm Minolta camera. She enjoys the craft involved in printing black and white photos by hand. When Zoë’s at work, just like in photography the process is as important as the product. So she’s in luck, because when managing the traffic coordination and administrative needs of the office- it’s usually all process. At Flux, Zoë is lucky enough to be in a creative environment where she gets to use her attention to detail to ensure that the office and work flow runs smoothly and stays shipshape on a daily basis.
Alexandra Michael May
Marketing Coordinator / Nebraska Transplant
alex@fluxbiz.com
Alexandra is the quintessential girly girl, despite what her middle name might suggest. She sleeps in a plush pink room adorned with an ornate crystal chandelier, and as she drifts off to sleep on her ruffled posh pillowcase, she dreams of marketing and brand strategy, heavy on the copy writing (and, okay, an occasional soap star and chocolate cupcake too.)
Alexandra toiled away at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she received her degree in PR/Advertising with a minor in speech and was uber-involved as vice-president of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She put her skills to work as an on-air correspondent on the TV show, “The Omaha Buzz” and as manager and PR director of T’eez: A Thomas Sena Salon in Omaha. Alas she yearned for bigger and better things...
She recently arrived in the land of dreams, delivered like a newborn baby straight to the doorstep of FLUX, from her black VW Beetle Convertible, rather than a mangy stork with a killer beak.
A self-professed blog-a-holic, she enjoys writing brief yet poignant snippets, and is especially enthusiastic about life, her job at FLUX, LA, shopping, the sun, fro-yo and fruit, anything that sparkles and karaoke.
